Data sources
All weather, air quality and geocoding data comes from Open-Meteo, an open weather API aggregating national meteorological services.
What we request
City coordinates and names come from the Open-Meteo geocoding API. Current conditions, hourly and daily forecasts, sunrise and sunset times and the UV index come from the Open-Meteo forecast API. The European Air Quality Index comes from the Open-Meteo air quality API, and marine conditions are requested only for verified coastal cities.
We request only the variables the interface actually uses, cache responses for a short period and never substitute invented values when a request fails.
Attribution
Weather data by Open-Meteo.com, licensed under CC BY 4.0. Underlying model data is provided by national weather services including DWD, Météo-France, ECMWF and Copernicus CAMS for air quality.
If an optional dataset such as air quality or marine data is unavailable, the rest of the forecast is still shown and the missing part is labelled clearly.
Before commercial launch
API licensing and commercial-use terms must be reviewed and confirmed with the provider before this project is operated commercially, including any request-volume limits and the need for a paid plan.
Should the provider change, the data layer is isolated from the interface so it can be replaced without rewriting the scoring or presentation code.
